The Journey of
Pearlie’s Southern Kitchen
Kerston Crawford-Thorns began her culinary journey with cornbread at age six, under her grandmother, Pearlie Mae's guidance. Influenced deeply by southern flavors and Pearlie Mae’s belief in cooking from the soul, Kerston launched Pearlie's Southern Kitchen in 2018. That year, her venture was invited to participate at the State Fair of Texas, later becoming its first food vendor graduate from the CFFE program.
Pearlie's Southern Kitchen gained national recognition on TV shows for signature dishes like "Deep-Fried Potato Salad." Beyond her culinary pursuits, Kerston cherishes time with her family, including her husband Shawn and children Dayvion and London.
